Building a Great Downtown: Development in Portland's City Center

The Portland Mall Light Rail Project is at the heart of a major development effort that is transforming downtown Portland.

Between 2007 and 2009, public and private developers will invest more than $1.5 billion in the core downtown area, by restoring old buildings, renovating storefronts and creating new places to work, live and play.

These investments will help keep downtown Portland accessible and inviting to everyone.
